Chasing Butterflies
Acrylic on canvas (original is 24×27). So many people are obsessed with “chasing butterflies”. That is, with finding the next beautiful or entrancing thing, and the next, and the next. They make your heart skip, always looking for the newest, the prettier, one. But in this search for the next great thing they miss the beauty and the significance of the present moment.
Original Painting of "CHASING BUTTERFLIES" is currently for sale at Lyman-Eyer Art Gallery
Ascension
Life throws pebbles in your path, although in my case I always thought of them as knots. That feeling like a cord that goes through your chest, a connection with the spirit, when you blindly hit a knot, whether it is bad news, good news, love or anger. I feel as if that knot is being drawn through me. Only recently have I been able to appreciate that this is life, on life’s terms, and savor the moment, anticipating the knots.

Letting Go
Painted at one of the hardest points of my recovery, when I realized I had to let go of some of my shortcomings. I turn myself over to the universe; all of me - good and bad. I ask for the willingness and trust that the things that I do not need, that keep me from seeing and being, will be removed and replaced with positives. It is a painful process, one that I find myself retreating from and then pursuing, again and again.
